What is Sunday Morning at BPCF?
Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs Sing and make melody in your heart to the Lord. Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:19,20
Prayer - We begin the morning with a group that meets for prayer. One of
the purposes of this prayer group is to ask for the Lord’s blessing on the
meetings to follow. We also solicit prayer requests from individuals and pray
for each one of them at this time.
Lord’s Supper Meeting - The Lord’s Supper is the primary focus of our
weekly Worship meeting (Acts 20:7). It is the remembrance of Jesus Christ’s
sacrificial death and shed blood for the forgiveness of sins and is a response
to His request, “Do this in remembrance of me” (1 Corinthians 11:24,25). The
hymns, prayers of thanksgiving, and sharing of Scriptures that come from various
brothers in the assembly are intended to flow in the direction of making the
celebration of the Lord’s Supper more meaningful.
Only believers in the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ should take part
in the Lord’s Supper. There is not a requirement that you are a regular attendee
at BPCF to take part in this remembrance service, but we would desire that there
be an expression of personal faith in the finished work of Christ before
introducing you to the assembly. Care should be taken that each person examine
himself before the Lord before taking part in this meeting (1 Corinthians
11:28,29). We believe that the Lord’s Supper should be observed with dignity and
reverence, which the Lord’s sacrifice for us requires.
Giving is an expression also of worship and fellowship with other believers in
supporting the work of the Lord. It is an opportunity to express our faith in
God to supply our needs and to multiply the gifts in His work.
The final portion of the Worship Meeting is a short time for teaching and
sharing which edifies the body and encourages believers in their Christian
lives.
Fellowship Break – A half hour is set aside for fellowship and getting
acquainted. This is a good time for visitors to come and get acquainted with the
believers who meet at BPCF.
Sunday School – The Sunday School opening is primarily intended for
children with adults in attendance. A time of singing is followed by children
reciting verses. A 15 minute talk is then presented to the “kids” and is often
accompanied by an object lesson illustrating the message of salvation and/or
simple Bible truths.
Adult Bible Teaching and Sunday School Classes – Individual classes are
provided for children and young people. At this time Bible teaching for adults
is presented in the main room. These talks are recorded and available to listen
to on this web-site.
